Its harder and harder to find a decent black and white laser MFP. It seems the general consumer is moving more and more to color inkjets for photo printing, and the offerings for small offices just aren't as plentiful.
I've used multiple Brothers, as have my friends. Brother has a sadly poor customer service reputation, a high toner cartridge replacement cost, and used to be a bit annoying to deal with software wise. This is compensated for by good cost for features and print quality. ... Read More

This printer is used at home on a network of one desktop and one laptop computer. We are using the wireless interface but you can connect with wires if you choose. It was very easy to set up and is a great monochrome laser printer which also scans in color, faxes and copies. You can use the machine by direct input or by the control center software loaded to the computers. The print quality is great and after it warms up, its printing is very fast. We are very pleased with this printer and we believe ... Read More

This is a great printer and fax machine. I had no trouble setting up as a default printer on my home wireless network. I was up and running within minutes. I have a complex network, with two macs and two PCs on the Network. All it takes is inserting the disk and following the instructions. Print quality is great, the refils are cheaper than most HP printer cartridges. Great product I found at a great price at Office Max for 229.00 dollars.... Amazon price was higher and hence I bought it in the store ... Read More

I replaced a Samsung multi-function laser with very similar specs with this one (Samsung was pretty buggy and the scanner feed gave out after 4 years).
I've been using this printer for about a month.
GOOD: Fast (printing), Quiet. Fast to print first page. Wireless is nice (easy to configure). Easy installation (on Windows XP). Small compared to other MFCs. Flexible scanning options with customizable presets.
BAD: Manual feeding is TERRIBLE. I print checks and ... Read More
