These muscles lie in the forearm and their tendon components cross the wrist and attach to the bones to move the fingers and wrist. Exercise these for greater grip power and endurance. The smaller muscles of the hand (intrinsic), lie at the base of the thumb (3), small finger (4) and across the hand (5 & 6). They provide the finer movements, coordination, and control of the fingers and do not cross the wrist. WARNING! Like any other piece of exercise equipment, strain, muscle fatigue or other injury can occur from the use of this
Amazon.com Product Description: The Gripmaster Pro isolates and strengthens each finger individually, helping you improve your overall strength, endurance, and dexterity. A few daily workouts with the Gripmaster Pro and you'll enjoy better control of a baseball/softball bat, tennis racquet, or golf club, with each finger working in seamless unity with the others. You'll also find a ton of other uses for the Gripmaster Pro, including playing guitar or violin, rock climbing, bowling, target shooting, martial arts, yoga, or even relieving stress while clicking a mouse or gaming for hours on end.
To keep things interesting and to accommodate certain uses, the company recommends several different exercises, including the "fingertip pinch," "flatfist," "powergrip," "wristflex," and "thumbpinch," most of which are explained on the Gripmaster website. Best of all, you can work out anytime and anywhere with the Gripmaster Pro, which fits neatly in your pocket when not in use. This particular version of the Gripmaster Pro offers an extra-heavy tension of 11 pounds per finger--a recommended tension for extremely strong hands.

The Gripmaster Pro is a wonderful product that any musician or athlete will enjoy. The tension is set st a perfect level, it is challenging to squeeze but not so hard that you can not grip it. It has helped my bass playing tremendously. However, if you plan to use the Gripmaster callus builders with it, like I did, forget it. This thing is much to large. That is not anything major because I already had one of the weaker ones lying around. Now one hand can build callus while the other builds muscle. ... Read More

Every man should have this product! At first my hands were not strong enough to even close this extra heavy grip master, but within a week of exercising while watching my favorite tv shows, I could do many repetitions and my grip was stronger than ever. It seems like my hands woke up to their full potential.
This product is super durable, unlike other grippers that break with use and make you shed out another $10 dollars to keep your regime going.
This is a great gift for young men, construction ... Read More

I was having some hand issues and decided to start strengthening them up. I began with the standard Gripmaster (also very good products) in the medium tension, then moved up to the heavy tension. That got my hands even stronger so I thought I would go for this Pro model to keep increasing strength even more. I bought two so I can go simultaneously. These are very nicely made and the extra-heavy tension is just right for my now greatly improved hand strength. I play the guitar and these devices have helped ... Read More

I have been climbing walls indoor and outdoor for over 5 years now and this gripmaster pro is really impressive. It is build extremely sturdy and fits my hand much better than the regular gripmaster (which I would also rate 5 stars!). I purchased the 7 pounds and the 11 pounds pro version. I use them for hours everyday, whenever I have a free hand I grab one and it definitely increased my strength endurance. Now when I am struggling to finish a climb this little device gives me the extra strength that I need.

I've long had a traditional one. It hurt my hand and did not evenly distribute the force. I only gave it 4 stars because even the heavy, (i bought light medium and heavy) is easier to squeeze than I expected, so i recommend going "one up" from what you think you want.
