Editorial Review:
Product Description: Don't spend another summer covered in bug spray or trapped indoors. Enjoy your backyard protected by the Mosquito Magnet. Sprays, candles and lotions offer only temporary relief from mosquitoes and biting insects. The Mosquito Magnet biting insect trap is a long-term solution that is scientifically proven to virtually eliminate mosquitoes from your yard. It mimics a human by emitting a plume of carbon dioxide (CO2), heat and moisture, and a short-range attractant, octenol. This precise combination is irresistible to female mosquitoes (the ones that bite), no-see-ums, biting midges, black flies, and sandflies. As the mosquito approaches the trap hoping for a human, it is quietly vacuumed into a net where it dehydrates and dies. Silent, odorless, no mess. By using the Mosquito Magnet continuously throughout the mosquito season, you will be able to capture both day- and night-biting mosquitoes, thereby drastically reducing the mosquito population in your yard. 50-Foot low voltage cord included (burying clips included) Sled base Uses Octanol attractant One-year warranty Refill propane tank and replace attractant every 21 days. Empty net as needed.

We love this machine. This is the second one. They work even better now that we switched to the Lurex3 instead of Octenol. We live in Oklahoma and the entire West side of our home is water. These machines allow us to enjoy being outside. Before we were eaten alive and stayed in the house.

I bought one of these a few years ago when they were popular on the radio. It worked for awhile and did catch no-seeums and mosquitos, but didn't make a difference. Then I started having trouble with it going out, or not starting after repalcing the propane tank. They sent me another power pack since it was under warranty. The pack quit working within 2 months, right after the warranty ran out. I did some research, and lots of people had the same problem. It appears the company knows that the ... Read More

This product is a waste of money. It will only last for one season and its' effetiveness was minimal. Two other folks on the street bought one as well and had the same experience. After mine stopped working (the first time), customer service was marginal at best. I live in the south and I got a little desperate to solve the misquito problem. Save your money and buy more cans of bugs spray.

BE CAREFUL WHEN PURCHASING THIS ITEM. I CAN'T REMEMBER WHAT TYPE OF MOSQUITO ATTRACTANT IS USED FOR THE SOUTHERN PART OF THE US BUT IT IS NOT OCTENOL. AS STATED IN THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE MOSQUITO MAGNET.. OCTENOL IS FOR THE NORTHERN STATES AND THERE IS ANOTHER PRODUCT FOR THE SOUTHERN STATES. I PURCHASED BOTH THE MOSQUITO MAGNET AND THE 3-PACK AND NOT VERY IMPRESSED IN THE RESULTS. MAYBE 100 MOSQUITOS IN 1 MONTH WITH 2 COMPLETE PROPANE TANKS. GIVEN THAT I PAID $250.00 FOR THE MAGNET AND ANOTHER ... Read More

I have to say that the Mosquito Magnet- Defender is one of the best products I have found. Within three days the trap was completely full of mosquitoes and "no see-ums". I also recommend the use of the attractants made specifically for the "Magnet". One attractant came with the unit and others can be purchased separately. It is also very easy to use; just empty the trap when it starts to get full and there are no sticky glue pads to mess with. The Mosquito Magnet has allowed my family to once again ... Read More
