Editorial Review:

Amazon.com:
Finally a way to keep unwanted animals out of the garden and protect your yard, fruit trees, vegetables and flowers from hungry or destructive creatures. Cats, dogs, deer, rabbits, large birds, and many others. The patented Scarecrow motion-activated sprinkler is the smartest scarecrow ever invented. When it sees an intruder it instantly releases full garden hose water pressure towards the trespasser. The effect is both startling and immediate. Animals quickly get out of the area and avoid it in the future. The ScareCrow motion-activated sprinkler is constructed of durable, high-quality materials, and has been designed to provide many years of reliable service.

Using the ScareCrow is easy. Simply attach a standard garden hose to its base, set the ScareCrow in the ground in the area you want to protect, and then turn on the water. Once you switch the unit on, it is ready to go.

How does it work?
The ScareCrow uses a combination of sudden noise, unexpected movement, and a startling blast of water to create a memorable and unpleasant experience for the trespasser.
The animal immediately associates this unpleasant experience with the location, and to avoid similar surprises, learns to avoid the area. If an animal chooses to return, the ScareCrow will be waiting.
While a human may flee several steps after activating a ScareCrow, animals are typically affected to a much greater degree. In most cases they run much farther, and stay away longer. Because the unit only triggers when the animal moves, its behavior is difficult for animals to anticipate, making it a very effective deterrent.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Excellent Product
I wouldn't have a garden if it wasn't for these sprinklers. Before I started using this product the deer were eating everything in my garden. Once I set up the sprinklers the deer ceased to be a problem. They deer appear to remember that the sprinklers are there and now keep their distance -- sometimes right on the periphery of the sprinkler's sensing range. I currently have four in use with two back-ups in the shed. Despite being a few years old and having been through some rough winters, ... Read More

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Great idea, but....
I have had raccoons frequenting my backyard and deck for the summer; feasting on a neighbor's fruit trees. Normally I would not care, except that they have taken to my deck for their....ah.....'excretory' purposes....

What I tried:

- motion detector light.....they did not care

- Ground up habanero peppers in corn oil, sprayed on the deck and surrounding vegetation...nope, no change

- Scarecrow sprinkler.....I did notice a lower level of 'activity', ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Awsome product keeps the cats and racoons out of my pond
I used to end up buying feeder fish for my pond because the neighborhood cats and racoons would eat the fish. I tried nets but did not like the way they looked and what good is a water feature if it looks bad. Then I found this. Since I've installed it, the neighboorhood cats have stayed out of my yard and make a large arc around it. I have not lost any fish and have even added some expensive Koi without fear of simply buying pricey cat food. I would highly recommend this for anyone who is tired of dealing ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Humane way to deter deer
I wish we would have had this product before the deer ate most of this year's daylilies and hostas. Looking forward to a garden without deer next season. Product scares away the deer and neighborhood kids that use our property as a shortcut home. Would recommend highly - even though its expensive - I think its worth it!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - great tool
I gave this to my dad for father's day last year to try to keep the deer, possums, and woodchucks away from his vegetables, and to keep the neighbor's cats from overfertilizing them. It works great. Both years it's taken about a month for the animals to get the message, but then they don't even come near the garden. Yes, it will spray you if you're not careful, and a good stiff breeze can move the bushes enough to trigger it, but it works. Only warning, you need to think before you put this thing in you're ... Together with the current flagship, Queen Elizabeth 2, and Queen Mary 2, the biggest passenger liner ever, the Cunard fleet will include three Queens for the first time – truly the most famous ocean liners in the world.   Queen Victoria Cruises

Cruise Queen Victoria will enter service in the company’s 165th anniversary and will operate cruises to and from Southampton to the Mediterranean, the Canaries, Northern Europe, the Caribbean, and South America. The on-board menus, entertainment and lecture program will be geared to British tastes and the currency will be sterling. Queen Victoria will fly the red ensign; she will have the name of her home port, Southampton, on her stern, and she will have a British Captain and Officers.   In design terms the cruise Cunard Queen Victoria will have an undeniably British feel with two British design teams being responsible for the interior of the Cunard Queen Victoria.

Queen Victoria is being built at Italy’s Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, near Venice, with her keel laid on July 12, 2003. One of the most technically advanced shipbuilders in the world, Fincantieri has built more than 7,000 vessels, including many for Cunard’s parent Carnival Corporation. Originally ordered as the fifth in a series of five 'Vista' class ships for sister company Holland America, the contact was signed over to Cunard before the keel was laid and Holland America then ordered a further ship for delivery  in 2006.   Enjoy a Cruise on Queen Victoria.  The lead ship in the series, Zuiderdam, entered service in December 2002.

No cruise schedules have yet been announced. Her float out is scheduled for May 2007, prior to her delivery in March 2008.She is scheduled to enter service in April 2008.
