Like Tarantino's mainstream breakthrough Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs has an unconventional structure, cleverly shuffling back and forth in time to reveal details about the characters, experienced criminals who know next to nothing about each other. Joe (Lawrence Tierney) has assembled them to pull off a simple heist, and has gruffly assigned them color-coded aliases (Mr. Orange, Mr. Pink, Mr. White) to conceal their identities from being known even to each other. But something has gone wrong, and the plan has blown up in their faces. One by one, the surviving robbers find their way back to their prearranged warehouse hideout. Reservoir Dogs is violent (though the violence is implied rather than explicit), clever, gabby, harrowing, funny, suspenseful, and even--in the end--unexpectedly moving. I have always loved this movie, it is definitely a great movie if you are a fan of "pulp"ish movies. as far as blue ray goes, the features are the same as what was included on the anniversary edition a few years ago, but the picture quality is good if you are worried about that!

After the initial 1/2 hour of this movie, I just kept waiting for something even remotely interesting to happen but it never came. I'd love to know how many times I thought to myself, "When the &%$# are they going to get out of this "warehouse"? And that was after another unfortunately long and boring scene in the restaurant! The entire premise of the movie seems to be nothing more than a venue for Tarantino to indulge us all in terrible "one-liners". This ranks right up there with Super Troopers ... Read More

It's nice to see that Lions gate is putting out better Blu's these days,their Blu's of films like T2,The Punisher,Stargate are pretty void of extras,they look good but Blu's can hold a %#$@load of content,much more than a DVD,get me wrong I DO own those mentioned titles,and they do look great on Blu but they could have been so much more,so if you have the origianl DVD's keep em' for the extras,I smell yee' ol' double dip in the future,especially since the new Punisher and upcoming Terminator film,well ... This movie is FANTASTIC, Yes it is over the top and Extremely Violent and Profanity laced,but except for one CLEAR Psycho, everyone else seems pretty rational(As far as Armed Robbers go). What makes the movie is the interpersonal dialogue, and how SANE and CLEAR everyones thought process is. I try and picture myself at that warehouse after all the stuff goes down, and I am pretty sure I would be thinking EXACTLY like Mr.Pink. Reservoir Dogs served notice that a new auteur was on the scene, but though a good first effort for Quentin Tarantino, it was just a taste of things to come; and it seems like an experiment that was only partialy successful. Though it is often imitated, spoofed even like for instance a scene in 'Swingers,' it seems like it uses a lot of gimmicks, and even though said gimmicks are pretty much Tarantino's style, in later works, i.e. 'Pulp Fiction,' he is able to better integrate those gimmicks into a seamless ... Cunard Line has announced that its new
85,000-ton cruise ship, which is scheduled to enter service in 2008, will be
named Queen Victoria. Based in Southampton, England, the Cunard Queen Victoria will be
the second largest Cunard Queen ever built. Together with the current flagship,
Queen Elizabeth 2, and Queen Mary 2, the biggest passenger liner ever, the
Cunard fleet will include three Queens for the first time – truly the most
famous ocean liners in the world.

Cruise
Queen Victoria will enter service in the company’s 165th anniversary and will
operate cruises to and from Southampton to the Mediterranean, the Canaries,
Northern Europe, the Caribbean, and South America. The 1,968-passenger vessel
will feature a covered wraparound promenade deck, a forward-facing observation
lounge, a large Lido pool with a retractable magrodome, and 10 of the12
passenger decks will be served by exterior glass-walled lifts. Like QE2 and QM2,
the liner will have a Queens Grill, offering single-seating gourmet dining.
There will also be a unique Colonial Restaurant on Deck 11 with spectacular
panoramic views.
Queen Victoria cruises will offer a wide range of
accommodations, large standard outside cabins (170 square feet) and a high
percentage of balcony cabins (67%), thereby bringing new levels of luxury and
choice to passengers preferring to depart from a European port. Cruise

The on-board menus, entertainment and lecture program will be geared to British
tastes and the currency will be sterling. Queen Victoria will fly the red
ensign; she will have the name of her home port, Southampton, on her stern, and
she will have a British Captain and Officers.
In design terms the cruise Cunard Queen Victoria will have an undeniably British feel with two British design
teams being responsible for the interior of the Cunard Queen Victoria.
Queen Victoria is being built at Italy’s Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, near
Venice, with her keel laid on July 12, 2003. One of the most technically
advanced shipbuilders in the world, Fincantieri has built more than 7,000
vessels, including many for Cunard’s parent Carnival Corporation. Originally
ordered as the fifth in a series of five 'Vista' class ships for sister company
Holland America, the contact was signed over to Cunard before the keel was laid
and Holland America then ordered a further ship for delivery in 2006.

lead ship in the series, Zuiderdam, entered service in December 2002.
No cruise schedules have yet been
announced. Her float out is scheduled for May 2007, prior to
her delivery in March 2008.She is scheduled to enter service in April 2008. |
