Editorial Review:

Amazon.com:
Short of Top Gun, this could be the definitive boys movie of the 1980s. An 18-year-old (Jason Gedrick) gets instruction from an old vet (Louis Gossett Jr.) in how to fly an F-16 jet and kick butt in the Middle East, all while listening to his Walkman and--oh, yeah--saving his father from terrorist clutches. Gossett wears his tough-love face while the kids run rampant. Speaking of kids, young guys must like this comic-book movie, as its success spawned three sequels. But watch out for the Reagan-era jingoism and political reductiveness. --Tom Keogh

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Simple is better
It seems everyone reviewing Iron Eagle has seen and loves it. What I know is, it reminds me of simpler times. Cliched? Probably. I remember watching this with my sister as a kid. I love the whole thing and hopefully is as available in the future as it is now. The comparisons to Top Gun are unavoidable, like comparing the Stones to the Beatles. But, as it is with music comparisons, you can't look at Iron Eagle as a Top Gun rip off, it is in my opinion more entertaining and way better in it's own right. ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Iron Eagle
Iron Eagle should receive 5 stars "hands down!" It's fast paced, high energy; I couldn't sit still! I even turned on my speakers for great amplification, wow! This is a great hero movie with plenty of action, and hits every emotion. Not one dull moment in the movie. I highly recommend it!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Brings back a lot of memories
This is a great cheesy movie! I don't think I have to recommend this to you if you were a kid in the 80's. =D

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Iron Eagle Soars!
Jason Gedrick, Louis Gossett Jr., and Tim Thomerson star in this high-flying 80s action film about a pilot who is shot down and the lengths his son will go to save him.

Thomerson stars as Col. Ted Masters. He and his wingman are on a routine mission over the Mediterranean Sea when they are jumped by MIGs from a middle-eastern country. The name of the country is never given, but, due to the time when the movie was made, it can be assumed to be Libya. Masters and his wingman manage to shoot ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - The most enjoyable, least believable movie of all time
Little Doug Masters (Jason Gedrick) has an Air Force pilot for a father, an incredibly irresponsible father who has been allowing him to fly training missions since, evidently, Doug hit puberty. The kid has more simulator time than anyone on base (wherever that may be). He's so into flying that he has a club of fellow high school aviators - officers' kids - who take their personal planes out on the weekends for fun...and to race paint-huffing morons on dirt-bikes through treacherous mountains. He's a whiz ... Read More

The on-board menus, entertainment and lecture program will be geared to British tastes and the currency will be sterling. Queen Victoria will fly the red ensign; she will have the name of her home port, Southampton, on her stern, and she will have a British Captain and Officers.   In design terms the cruise Cunard Queen Victoria will have an undeniably British feel with two British design teams being responsible for the interior of the Cunard Queen Victoria.

Queen Victoria is being built at Italy’s Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, near Venice, with her keel laid on July 12, 2003. One of the most technically advanced shipbuilders in the world, Fincantieri has built more than 7,000 vessels, including many for Cunard’s parent Carnival Corporation. Originally ordered as the fifth in a series of five 'Vista' class ships for sister company Holland America, the contact was signed over to Cunard before the keel was laid and Holland America then ordered a further ship for delivery  in 2006.   Enjoy a Cruise on Queen Victoria.  The lead ship in the series, Zuiderdam, entered service in December 2002.

No cruise schedules have yet been announced. Her float out is scheduled for May 2007, prior to her delivery in March 2008.She is scheduled to enter service in April 2008.
