Editorial Review:

Amazon.com:
Dave Hood, cocreator and host of the There Goes a... series of videos for kids, takes us on a tour of the world of bulldozers, a natural favorite of those many children infatuated with earth-moving equipment. As usual, Hood shows us how these big machines work, what they do and why they do it, and how their functions interact with those of other construction-destruction vehicles. We meet bulldozer operators and see them pushing dirt, rocks, and debris from one place to another, and smoothing out the ground afterward. As always, no There Goes a... production would be complete without Hood comically screwing up something, and the laughs are frequent in this installment as well. --Tom Keogh

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Holds a 1 year old's attention.
My 1 (almost 2) year old son likes this video. But he wants me to watch it with him. No bulldozers here, but shots from large construction sites (J.Paul Getty Museum in LA) . Almost like somthing you'd see on the discovery channel. I went out to a nearby construction site with my video camera and was able to get comparable shots of heavy equipment. My son doesn't seem to mind "forman Dave".

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - great
Ok, ok. I know you're not "supposed" to put your child in front of the TV while you try to get something done. But here in the real world we have to do just that every once in a while. At least if I put on a video I know there won't be any surprises that I don't want my 2-1/2 year old seeing. This video is great for just that purpose. It runs a little over 1/2 an hour so it's not too long that I can take advantage of the "free time." It's just long enough to get dinner started and sometimes on the ... Read More

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Title is misnomer; Dave does DANGEROUS things.
We like this video, overall, but want others to know BEFORE THEY BUY:

1. the title would more appropriately be "There Go Big Machines on a Job Site". There are bulldozers, for sure, but there are MANY, MANY OTHER MACHINES found on a job site in this 30 min. video, too. On the positive side, the video does a super job of showing a variety of machines, the machines at work, and provides good narrative about the machines themselves. A+ on variety and accuracy.

2. DANGEROUS MESSAGES. ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Not many Bulldozers in this video
The title is misleading, but for kids looking for big machine action it works. There Goes a Dump Truck is another excellent video for kids that love heavy equipment.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - I love this video!
There goes a Bulldozer is my favorite. I love this video because I love Dave Hood! He makes me laugh all the time... I want to be a consturtion worker when I grow up.

Cunard Caronia
Calendar 2004
(Retired after 2004)

Cunard Line has announced that its new 85,000-ton cruise ship, which is scheduled to enter service in 2008, will be named Queen Victoria. Based in Southampton, England, the Cunard Queen Victoria will be the second largest Cunard Queen ever built. Together with the current flagship, Queen Elizabeth 2, and Queen Mary 2, the biggest passenger liner ever, the Cunard fleet will include three Queens for the first time – truly the most famous ocean liners in the world.   Silversea

Cruise Queen Victoria will enter service in the company’s 165th anniversary and will operate cruises to and from Southampton to the Mediterranean, the Canaries, Northern Europe, the Caribbean, and South America. The 1,968-passenger vessel will feature a covered wraparound promenade deck, a forward-facing observation lounge, a large Lido pool with a retractable magrodome, and 10 of the12 passenger decks will be served by exterior glass-walled lifts. Like QE2 and QM2, the liner will have a Queens Grill, offering single-seating gourmet dining. There will also be a unique Colonial Restaurant on Deck 11 with spectacular panoramic views.

Queen Victoria, Cunard Cruise Line

Queen Victoria cruises will offer a wide range of accommodations, large standard outside cabins (170 square feet) and a high percentage of balcony cabins (67%), thereby bringing new levels of luxury and choice to passengers preferring to depart from a European port.  Cruise Queen Victoria!   Honeymoon Cruises

The on-board menus, entertainment and lecture program will be geared to British tastes and the currency will be sterling. Queen Victoria will fly the red ensign; she will have the name of her home port, Southampton, on her stern, and she will have a British Captain and Officers.   In design terms the cruise Cunard Queen Victoria will have an undeniably British feel with two British design teams being responsible for the interior of the Cunard Queen Victoria.

Queen Victoria is being built at Italy’s Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, near Venice, with her keel laid on July 12, 2003. One of the most technically advanced shipbuilders in the world, Fincantieri has built more than 7,000 vessels, including many for Cunard’s parent Carnival Corporation. Originally ordered as the fifth in a series of five 'Vista' class ships for sister company Holland America, the contact was signed over to Cunard before the keel was laid and Holland America then ordered a further ship for delivery  in 2006.   Enjoy a Cruise on Queen Victoria.  The lead ship in the series, Zuiderdam, entered service in December 2002.

No cruise schedules have yet been announced. Her float out is scheduled for May 2007, prior to her delivery in March 2008.She is scheduled to enter service in April 2008.
